Pictures from the SKI-days

After some introductory lectures and the by now legendary words of Pieter Magusin "We hope it will start raining cats and dogs this afternoon during the quest", 7 brave groups set out on a 5-stage quest. Interestingly, 6 groups reached the first stage quite fast, the seventh group taking a detour to Helmond and only arriving later. The direction indicator "Go any direction" which was linked to a traffic sign "All directions to the left" should have been sufficient for some, but not for others. The drawings of the mooses varied in quality from 3-year-old-who-first-gets-crayon to amateur-wannabe.

The second stage -the most important because containing the wine-tasting- was only reached by two teams, which both had one out of three (spanish, australian and french) wines guessed right. This answer was checked and double-checked by the committee later that evening. No final agreement was reached, since the wine ran out.

Then the way to the third stage. The idea for the first 4 groups was to go to the crossing with the decapitated boy, go right and then directly left again to the wooden shoe factory. Anyhow, most of the teams ended up far away from the planned tracks somewhere in the center of Mierlo. To our great surprise, most of the teams then found "the bakery", which was a surprise to us, since we took that picture of a van in Helmond, some 10 km away from there, and we had no idea that they also had a branch in Mierlo.

At the third stage, some very interesting shapes of Afghanistan were suggested, and the number of neighbours was also new to us. We're very sorry, but the neighbour "something-ikistan" was ignored after some discussion between the jury members.

At the fourth stage, people were asked to play basketball with a rather light ball, which resulted in low scores per group since it was quite windy. The number of green birds and yellow camels varied from 7 to 17 (depending on whether the small camels were also included), and the number of green birds was subject to a lot of discussion in some groups ("We didn't count any", "No, we did count 3", "Really?"), whereas other groups were quite sure of themselves.

Finally, after walking 2 hours in the pouring rain most people arrived at the Old-Dutch-Games farm, where coffee and 'refreshments' awaited them.

Wood parts and 12 participants gone missing (according to Sander's group)

That wasn't difficult, was it?

Your final destination: note the bright sky in the background

place: Helmond, in front of a traffic light.
