Alexei Yakovlev

Alexei Yakovlev was born in the Soviet Union in 1968. He obtained his degree in Chemistry in 1992 at the Novosibirsk State University, Russia. His thesis was done under the supervision of Prof. G.M. Zhidomirov and Dr. S.Ph. Ruzankin on development of a computer program utilizing the Xalpha Scattered Wave Method and on calculations of XANES spectra of Tungsten-Oxygen compounds. Since 1990 till 1999 he worked in Novosibirsk at the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry in 1999 under the supervision of Prof. G.M. Zhidomirov. The title of his Ph.D. thesis is "Cluster Quantum-Chemical Modeling of Catalytically Active Sites in Metal-Containing Zeolites". In part, this work was done in collaboration with Theoretical Chemistry group of Prof. N. Roesch at the Munich University of Technology.
