| Welcome |
Danny Schuring was born in Amersfoort in 1974, where he attended the Vallei College. After finishing highschool in 1992, he moved to the Eindhoven University of Technology to study Applied Physics. For his M.Sc. Thesis he worked at the Physics and Applications of Ion Beams and Accelerators Group in the Cyclotron Laboratory, where he did research on alkane mass transfer and reaction kinetics in zeolites, using a new in-situ analysis technique called Positron Emission Profiling (PEP). In March 1998 he started as a Ph.D. student in the Theory group of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and Catalysis. His Ph.D. research is focussed on getting a microscopic understanding of adsorption and diffusion in zeolites, and linking this to the world of macroscopic experiments. On the 5th of November, 2002, Danny succesfully defended his Ph.D. thesis. He still comes by every once in a while.
